Working within a group setting for this project, an app was designed that aided gardeners with their daily tasks. Many gardening focused apps currently available are not well designed or easy to use so the focus was on those to problems. The apps major features are planning and plotting your gardens, an extensive handbook, a notebook, and a calendar where the user can set reminders. Users plan their gardens with a variety of editable shapes where plants included in the handbook can be easily added. For the iPad version the user can also draw their own custom plot if they wish. Both versions also have the option to take a photo of a plot and use that as a blue print.
For this project I designed all the individual icons and some of the app screens themselves. The icons were a challenge because they needed to match the art style of the app but still be recognizable. For each plant, information about proper growing environment, time to mature, how to plant, and common issues were included so gardeners would not have to search for the information elsewhere.
